Peter Ohnemus

Founder, Chairman, President and CEO of dacadoo ag, dacadoo americas, inc. and dacadoo Japan G.K.

Peter has been involved in high-tech and bio-tech investments over the last 25 years and this had led to four IPO’s and multiple trade sells. Peter co-founded ASSET4, the world’s leading provider of extra-financial information, in 2004, which was sold to Thomson Reuters in November of 2009. Mr. Ohnemus previously held senior executive positions with Sybase, Logic Works, The Fantastic Corporation and COS – all of which went public during his tenure.

Mark B. Hoffman

Mr. Hoffman is member of the board of dacadoo ag. Mr. Hoffman is CEO of Oxygen-Finance in London and served as a Director of Eightfold Logic, Inc. and ON24, Inc. From 2005 to 2007, Mr. Hoffman was President and CEO of Everdream Corp., which he sold to Dell Computer Systems in 2007. From 1996 to 2004 he was Founder, Chairman, President and CEO of Commerce One, Inc. Before that, Mr. Hoffman served as Co-Founder, President, CEO and Chairman of Sybase from 1984 until 1995. Together with Dr. Bob Epstein they grew the company into the 5th largest software company globally at the time. Mr. Hoffman holds an MBA from University of Arizona and a B.S. in Engineering from the U.S. Military Academy at West Point.

Michael Piechalak

Michael is a Principal at Rakuten Capital, based in the USA. He leads investments in international fintech and mobility startups. He has completed over 15 investment and M&A deals since joining Rakuten in 2014. Prior to Rakuten, Michael spent over 10 years in private equity and investment banking positions with firms in the USA, including H.I.G. Capital and Lehman Brothers. Michael earned his MBA at Duke University and his undergrad degree at Northwestern University.

Sanford R. Climan

Mr. Climan is President of Entertainment Media Ventures, Inc., a company active in media investment & strategic advisory work. He has also been active in motion picture & TV production and was awarded a British Academy and a Golden Globe Award. Mr. Climan has served in a number of corporate senior management positions in media and entertainment, among which he served as the first CEO of 3ality Digital, as Executive VP and President of Worldwide Business Development of Universal Studios, and as a member of the senior management team at Creative Artists Agency, serving as both a talent agent and as founding head of CAA’s corporate representation practice.

Prof. Dr. Laurence Jacobs

Health Score and Risk Model Expert

Prof. Jacobs received a PhD in Theoretical Particle Physics from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT) in 1977. After a postdoctoral fellowship at the Brookhaven National Laboratory, he joined the faculty of the Institute of Physics at the National University of Mexico. He has since held several teaching and research positions, including about fifteen years at MIT, where he was a member of the Center for Theoretical Physics. Prof. Jacobs has done research mainly in theoretical physics, applied mathematics, computational science and medicine, and has lectured and published widely in these and other fields. He has received several prestigious awards for his research, including a Guggenheim Memorial Fellowship at Harvard Medical School. His current research at the University of Zurich Medical School focuses primarily on understanding the mechanisms that lead to sudden death in adults and in infants.

Prof. Dr. med. Thomas F. Lüscher

Medical Doctor and Cardiovascular Expert

Prof. Lüscher is Professor and Chairman of Cardiology at the University Hospital Zurich and Director of CardioVascular Research at the Institute of Physiology of the University Zurich, Switzerland. Professor Lüscher is a board certified internist and cardiologist with training in internal medicine at the University Hospital Zurich, cardiovascular physiology and cardiology at the Mayo Clinic, Rochester, Minn., USA and in cardiology and clinical pharmacology at the University Hospital Basel, Switzerland. Prior to this, he was Professor of Pharmacotherapy at the University of Basel, then Professor and vice-chairman of cardiology at the Inselspital of the University of Bern, Switzerland. Professor Lüscher is Editor-in-chief of the European Heart Journal and he has published over 400 original research articles and review articles.

Prof. Dr. Richard Hurrell

Nutrition Expert

Prof. Hurrell received his PhD in Nutrition from the University of Cambridge, UK in 1975. After a Post-Doctoral Fellowship in Cambridge, he joined the Nestlé Research Laboratories in 1978, where he stayed until 1994 becoming Head of the micronutrient research group and coordinator for infant nutrition research, introducing stable isotope techniques to make metabolic studies in human volunteers. He became full Professor in Human Nutrition at ETH Zurich in 1994, introducing nutrition into the Food Science syllabus and teaching courses on nutrition and chronic disease and the nutrient requirements of different population groups. He was Head of the Institute of Food, Nutrition and Health from 2010-2012 and retired from ETH in 2012. His main research is focused on trace element and mineral metabolism using stable isotopes and long term feeding studies in human volunteers mostly in developing countries. He has more than 200 publications in the area of food fortification, factors influencing iron, zinc & calcium bioavailability, biofortification of staple foods, and most recently on nutrition and infection. He is a Board member of the Global Alliance for Improved Nutrition (GAIN) and International Life Science Institute (ILSI) and Editor of the International Journal of Vitamin and Nutrition Research.

Dr. Peter Pircher

Dr. Pircher received a MS in Math and a PhD in Computer Science from the University of Zürich in Switzerland. Following his studies he joined the department of Medical Information science of the University of California San Francisco, a leading medical research institution, for a 2 year postdoctoral fellowship. Once he left the University Peter founded a software tools company and worked for over 20 years in San Francisco and Silicon Valley as VP R&D and CTO for technology companies where he was instrumental in introducing model driven software development methods and tools. The focus of his work was to define architectures to build scalable systems. After joining a European Venture Capital fund he returned to Europe to manage the technology organizations of startup companies through IPO or trade sale. Peter currently leads an innovation Lab for the world’s largest provider of intelligent information for professionals. Besides numerous articles on software development methods and processes, Peter has also co-authored a book on data broadcasting.
